Kelowna Barre Class Questions and Answers
Every class is a little different... new movements, changing playlists... but they will all follow a simple foundation. We start off with a quick warm up, followed by an arm series using high reps of low weights. Don't be fooled by the light weights, we work through multiple reps with little to no recovery so you will feel those arms burn! Next we move onto our leg series, focusing on deep toning, pulsing and isometric movements. Last but not least, we hit the mats for some core work followed by a long, lengthening stretch out. Then you're off feeling absolutely amazing!
That's awesome! While certainly challenging, our classes are suitable for all ages and fitness levels. All classes allow you to work within your own abilities and take breaks when needed. Our instructors are all trained in modifications and posture correction and are there to assist you so that you are comfortable through every movement. We do however, recommend starting with our Base Barre class and always feel free to discuss any concerns or injuries with your instructor prior to class.
That's easy. Just click on any BOOK A CLASS button on our site and create a profile in our MINDBODY system, select the class you wish to book and voila! You can accept the liability waiver at the time of booking or complete it in the studio. You can also book classes right through the MINDBODY site or MINDBODY app, just search BARREROOM and it will connect to our booking system.
Just you, your smile, water and some grip socks (also for sale in studio). We offer complimentary towel service and provide all the equipment needed for an awesome class, including mats.
An hour of lifts, squats and planks on the regular....you bet your butt 😉 Through interval overload using high reps of primarily body weight and fluid movements you will, with consistency, create long, lean muscles and see more tone and definition from head to toe. We also eliminate hitting any plateaus by constantly changing the movements and as you get stronger you will only be able to push yourself that much harder.
Yes, since barre is a low impact workout it is absolutely safe for pregnant women. We provide modifications in all of our classes and you can participate at your own pace. We do however ask that you have a PARmed-X form completed by your doctor prior to participating.
We wish we could just squeeze you in but the next best thing is our waitlist option. This allows you to add your name in the event that other participants cancel prior to class time. Once you are on the waitlist you will be notified via text or email if and when a spot becomes available. If you are on numerous waitlists or are signed up for another class, you are responsible for cancelling the other class if the one you want comes available. Please be sure to read our cancellation policies.
We will be sad we won't see you in class....that being said, if you are unable to make a reserved class and it is more than 4 hours prior to the class starting you can simply log into your mind body account and select the booked class and cancel. You will be removed from that class with no charges. If you need to cancel a class within 4 hours of the class start time you may cancel the class, however you will be subject to the $10 late cancel fee. You can also call the studio directly to be removed from a class (this is also subject to the late cancellation policy).
Of course. We want our home to feel like your home. We have two showers, plush towels and fully stocked vanities with complimentary high end products and styling tools so you can rinse away that post barre glow and freshen up before going on with your day.
They do and they should! In fact, despite most men being a bit apprehensive, (no guys, this is not a ballet dance class) most men that have taken barre say it is one of the more challenging workouts they have done. It targets small muscles that traditional weight lifting doesn't touch. The BARREROOM method actually increases flexibility and strengthens stabilizer muscles contributing to better output in sports and weight training workouts.
